but they gain an extra 2d6" of height each tier, which I thought was amusingly fitting. Orks don't generally age as much over tier. Aeldari start off around 5 or 6 centuries old and add 3d6 centuries per tier. Astartes start out in their 70s and add years per tier (not sure how that syncs up with Scouts, haven't got there yet). Humans start out in their late 20s/early 30s on average, but add years per tier. Again, not gotten that far.Ĭharacter creation guidance also has age, hair colour, eye colour, and height random rolls. It does mention that you can go without an archetype if you want, but you'd better buy a talent or two to make up for the deficit, and there's mention of archetype-creation guidance later. No tier limits on species, but the Astartes ones obviously are too expensive to play at lower tiers.Īdvanced character creation is pick an appropriate keyword, spend XP freely on attributes, skills, archetypes if wanted, and talents. Orks start at Strength and Toughness 3, Aeldari at Agility 3. Astartes is, for example, 160xp for a heap of basic attributes and skills. unless you're human, in which case you don't pay anything, but don't get anything either), pick archetype (haven't gotten to the archetypes yet), spend remaining XP to customise (humans get more customisation because they've not spent anything on species).

I will gladly expand further this discussion with anyone interested.Basic character creation is pick species (species provides base stats and skills rather than modifiers, plus a couple of special perks, all covered in the cost. What for Me is quite a winner is the fact that is a System designed to FLAWLESSLY integrate Player Characters of all Culture, Races, "Classes and "Archetypes this with a special concentration on managing the "Power Level" in heavily mixed "Parties" like an Inquisition Acolytes Cell that is reinforced with one or two Astartes for very dangerous missions, or a Rogue Trader "Bodyguard Cadre" that comprehend all manners of Exotic Xenos. Rules are "Relatively" easy as RPG system "Basics" go (while extremely immersive and well done, the previous version of the 1° Edition has been described, sometimes as ungainly complex and cumbersome in very convoluted combat situations). I would gladly Gamemaster this kind of RPG in the format more useful for the Forum Structure.

"Wrath & Glory" is this new system the final Rule PDF is around from July, but now the phisical Book has even reached LGS around the world (even in foreign language versions the Italian Version in my home country is particularly well done). The newest incarnation of the "Official" WH40KRPG is starting quite speedily with the new system now developed by "Cubicle7" of Ireland (after they acquired-revised the previous Rule-Iterations from "Ulysses Spiel America" that, apparently, did not meet at all the criteria by GW). It appears that there are some requests about RPing in thsi very section it is unclear if they are referred to the old "First Edition" version by Black Library / Fantasy Flight (of whom I own quite A LOT of Manuals) or some other kind of System.
